1. There is a rapid development in the
use of information and communications technology (ICT) in logistics and supply chain management. ICT is today being
applied in many organizations‘ in a wide range and operations areas. It has provided new ways to store, process, distribute
and exchange information both within companies and with customers and suppliers in the supply chain. ICT used to
exchange information in the supply chain is often named inter organizational ICT or interior organizational information
systems (Gupta et. al., 2008). file:///D:/journal%20gudang/journal%20uts%20gale%20warehouse%20management/ROLE%20OF%20WAREHOUSE%20AUTOMATION-5632.pdf
2. In various service providing companies and organizations worldwide, Information and
Communication Technologies (ICTs) play a role in the process of providing effectively efficient
services, products and packages to better satisfy their customers. Companies face a dilemma in
today's competitive marketplace, where on one hand, customers demand customised products
and services and require that their orders are filled quickly, but on the other hand they do not
want to pay a premium for this customization and availability (Graman and Magazine, 2006).
Therefore, organizations are exploring ways toward postponement strategy in response to
constantly changing demands (Yang et al.(2004). file:///D:/journal%20gudang/journal%20uts%20gale%20warehouse%20management/116c03e752703e6c8379d679412633b42d10.pdf
3. The increasing incorporation of ICT in all areas both social and economic has
contributed to the development of information society, described by many authors as
the Revolution of the 21st century (Berumen and Arriaza, 2008). file:///D:/journal%20gudang/journal%20uts%20gale%20warehouse%20management/TFG_Marti%20+Espinosa,+Cristina.pdf
